If you're looking for a neat Chinese restaurant in Seoul that is being recognized by people these days,
you'll be satisfied with the experience Mongjungheon (몽중헌) will be giving you
There are 8 located in Seoul
Cheongdam, Jong no, Euljiro, Jamsil, Gongdeok (near Hongdae), Daechi-dong (near Gangnam), Munjeong, Banpo
I went to the one located in Cheongdam
They have valet service (3,000won), and the place is actually located in B1
The place is quite big, and their interior is really neat
Once you enter, the right side is the hall side where you can sit in an open space,
and the left side has more then 10 rooms. So you can make a reservation for some special events
or if you'd like to have some quite space to yourself
We didn't make a reservation, but since all window seats were for two,
we were lucky to get a spot there
Since my husband was driving, I allowed myself a Tsingtao draft beer
which was reallllly good....
What we ordered:
- Shrimp Dumpling
- Shanghai style Shaolong-pao
- Fried pork with sweet and sour sauce
- Stir fried Minced pork and eggplant with spicy sauce
- 1 white rice
It doesn't seem like it, but actually it's a lot of food
They seem to be generous with how much they're serving you
The hall was full of people though it was Monday evening.
After finishing the meal, I knew why.
They're not that expensive compared to the service and the amount
It was 94,700won in total
They don't have dessert in the menu, but they serve it for everyone who visits
Plum pudding?!?!
I thought that this was very thoughtful
I drink plum juice everytime after a heavy meal
So eventually..................
I went there again ! :-)
We ordered Peking Duck, which we had to make a reservation a day in advance
(85,000won)
You can choose between 1/2 and a whole,
but of course my husband and I went for the whole
They ask you whether you'd like to have the meat fried in a separate dish
But we just wanted to eat them as it is; so we didn't have a separate fried meat
It doesn't seem like it, but it's a lot.... so you shouldn't be ordering other heavy side dishes
Since we didn't know, we failed to do so and ate too much ^0^
- Shrimp Spring Roll
- Shanghai style Shaolong pao with hot sauce
- Scorched rice soup with seafood
They were all good, but again.... toooo much
We were very much satisfied
If you'd like to have Peking duck in Seoul, try it out!!
